We are hiring for the 2022-2023 School year:

Program Director

BASIC FUNCTION: Supervise the overall operation of the spaces within program site; ensure implementation of the educational program for children in each grade level and ensure compliance with all applicable licensing criteria, program performance standards, and agency rules and regulations.
The program director is responsible for the implementation, management, supervision, and collaborative evaluation of the agency’s programs in accordance with the standards set out by the organization. As a member of the senior management team, reporting directly to the executive director, the program director participates in strategic planning and budgeting initiatives in addition to problem solving. They work within the guidelines, policies and mission of the organization and will be accountable and responsible for specific projects as assigned.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
•	Responsible for the implementation, management, supervision, and evaluation of all activities of the programs in accordance with agency standards.
•	Supervise all instructors at program sites: provide direction and support; establish individual training plans; monitor and evaluate performance; take corrective actions; provide staff development opportunities; assist with interviewing program staff candidates and making hiring recommendations
•	Support instructors in the design and set up lesson plans and activities, to accomplish program goals. Ensure adequate source materials, supplies, and equipment are on hand for daily use and that learning environment cleanliness is maintained
•	Oversee all activity and lesson operations; ensure all aspects of curriculum are implemented, coordinate field trips and guest presentations, conduct weekly center staff meetings, schedule coverage as necessary, ensure that volunteers receive guidance and direction
•	Ensure that program is in compliance with RI Department of Education, Providence Public School District, RI Department of Human Services, BrightStars licensing and accreditation standards and regulations, and requirements set out by funding agencies.
•	Remain up-to-date on all modifications to the guidelines for implementing the programs in a timely and organized manner 
•	Responsible for the physical safety of all enrolled children at program sites
•	Conduct regular staff meetings
•	Participate in an annual minimum of 20 hours of authorized professional development; attend trainings and workshops required to maintain credentials and certifications
•	Compile, maintain and report on the monthly, quarterly and annual program statistics.
•	Develop partnerships and maintain communication with families utilizing programs.
•	Organize and work closely with school administration and teaching staff to facilitate communication and create a link between school-day and the programs
•	Lead and facilitate on-going planning efforts including community outreach
•	Develop, implement, and evaluate recruitment strategies to expand the number of clients participating in the programs
•	Attend all required meetings, conferences, and trainings
•	Meet all compliance items including effective and timely data & fiscal management
•	Responsible for the supervision and management of the data management software
•	Articulate the agency’s mission, instructional philosophy and curriculum implementation strategies in a professional manner.
•	Positively represent the agency’s mission and standards at all times.
•	Perform all other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
•	Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Education, Child Development, Human Services or Recreation
•	Five (5) years of experience in Out-of-School time, Education or Early Childhood Education
•	Record of Results; Holds high expectations for self and others to achieve and surpass intended goals
•	Ability to influence, motivate and manage others to meet deadlines and achieve measurable, ambitious results
•	Strong written and verbal communication skills, including comfort in utilizing data and analyzing results to tell a story
•	Ability to organize and balance long-term goals while prioritizing daily tasks in a fast-paced environment
•	Ability to focus for extended periods of time reading/understanding rules and regulations, creating written narratives and/or managerial plans, entering data and conducting data analysis, and managing budgets.
•	Personal responsibility to develop and implement high-quality out-of-school time programs that meet the educational needs of the Mt. Hope community
•	Initiative to solve problems independently and seek help from colleagues, when appropriate
•	Experience navigating relationships and partnerships successfully
•	Ability to interact with people of all ages and cultural backgrounds
•	Ability to work flexible hours
•	Reliable transportation

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
•	24 Credits in Early Childhood Education or RIELDS Certification and one year supervised teaching in licensed/approved early childhood program
OR
•	Meet other option to be an Education Coordinator according to DHS Child Care Licensing Regulations
•	Multilingual

Working conditions/physical requirements:
Maintain emotional control under stress. Limited travel is required; occasional prolonged and irregular hours. Be comfortable performing multi-faceted projects in conjunction with day-to-day activities. Includes the ability to stand, walk, run, crouch, and do moderate lifting up to 50 lbs.

Out of School Time Pre-K Instructor - Mt. Hope Learning Center 
(12-30 hours per week)

The purpose of this position is to ensure that the Learning Center is providing high quality programming in a thoughtful, deliberate manner.  Out of School Time Instructors are responsible for providing homework help, academic support, and engaging, thoughtful and fun STEAM based activities to the children we serve.

Positions available:
●	Before School
o	6:30-9:00 am
●	After School
o	3:00-6:00 pm
o	Availability from 1:00-6:00 pm two days per week
●	Both Before and After School

Qualifications:
●	Demonstrated experience working with children ages 4-5
●	Ability to teach and lead various activities
●	Excellent character, integrity and adaptability
●	Ability to communicate and work with a variety of age and skill levels
●	The desire and ability to work in a cooperative, team-oriented atmosphere
●	Enthusiasm, sense of humor, patience and self-control
●	Ability and willingness to lead, supervise and actively engage with children during outdoor and indoor physical activities in a range of weather and temperature conditions
●	Multilingual preferred

Programmatic Regulations:
Mt. Hope Learning Center is a licensed provider subject to RI Child Care Center and School Age Program Regulations for Licensure. All staff members must comply with the following regulations prior to starting their positions:
●	At least 18 years of age and documentation of GED or High School diploma with three years’ experience in a licensed early childhood education program OR twelve (12) college level credits in early childhood education or a related field
●	Clean background checks: BCI, fingerprinting, child abuse and neglect registry
●	Documentation of the following immunizations: 2 doses of MMR, 1 dose of Tdap, 2 doses of varicella, willingness to receive annual flu shot before December 31, 2021
●	Documentation of Pediatric First Aid and CPR certifications or willingness to obtain within 6 months of hire
●	Personal electronic use (cell phones, tablets, etc.) is not permitted while supervising children unless in case of emergency

Primary responsibilities:
●	Creating and maintaining supportive, relationship-based environments with students including using positive behavior strategies that show respect for individual children
●	Planning and actively facilitating fun and engaging weekly lesson plans in the areas of literacy, science, technology, engineering, art, math, social-emotional development, and physical health
●	Reporting after school accidents and/or incidents promptly
●	Participating in regular MHLC trainings, as well as additional training opportunities when recommended by the Education Coordinator
●	Communicating supply levels for proper access to cleaning and activity materials
●	Appropriate use of communication tools (walkie-talkies, intercoms)

Additional responsibilities:
Due to provisions in place to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and other infections or contagions instructors are specifically responsible for:
●	Ensuring proper use of personal protective equipment such as masks, gloves and other equipment as necessary
●	Cleaning and disinfecting of all surfaces and materials/toys as outlined by CDC protocols and adopted by MHLC

(12.5-30 hours per week)

The purpose of this position is to ensure that the Learning Center is providing high quality programming in a thoughtful, deliberate manner.  Out of School Time Instructors are responsible for providing homework help, academic support, and engaging, thoughtful and fun STEAM based activities to the children we serve.
